Jhargram Police District was created by bi-furcating the erstwhile Paschim Medinipur District vide G.O. No. 210-PLL/PB/IJ-06/09 Dt. 15.01.2010 of Home Police Department, Govt. of West Bengal. Further on Jhargram has been developed as independent revenue district vide Notification No. – 79/AR/O/2R-I/2011 dated 20 March 2017.In the year 2015, the Government decided to shift this Police Lines to Kadamkanan near Jhargram Mini Zoo and as well as to make a full fledged Police Lines, the constructional work has already been started under the supervision of West Bengal Police Housing corporation Limited after taking over the possession from forest Department Government of West Bengal which is around 45.5 acre. After completed the constructional work & hand over the Jhargram Police this Police Lines is presently situated in Junglekhas, Deer Park Road, Jhargram Pin-721507.
